I love to travel! It’s probably the thing that sets my heart on fire the most. I also love health & fitness. Keeping both going at the same time can be a challenge, but I have a few tips that help keep me healthy while on-the-go!
LIFE HACK #1: WALK, DON’T DRIVE
Uber is amazing! I use it pretty often while traveling, but if your destination is a reasonable distance away…walk or rent a bike instead of taking a car ride. You’ll get in some extra physical activity for the day while site seeing and enjoying the view.
LIFE HACK #2: DRINK YOUR FRUITS & VEGGIES
Sometimes eating a enough fruits and veggies just does’t happen on vacation. If that’s the case for you, stop by a juice bar or natural grocers. Grab yourself a nice juice/smoothie that will boost your nutrient intake and taste great!
LIFE HACK #3: FIND YOUR FITNESS TRIBE
If fitness excites you, traveling is the perfect time to try new classes and get outside your comfort zone. One of my all time favorites is Barry’s Boot Camp. They have locations across the country!
LIFE HACK #4: PREPARE AHEAD
Travel prep can be as simple or complicated as you want. Some people pack homemade snacks. I prefer to run into the store and buy a couple of protein bars, something fruity for a carb boost, and Justin’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups…absolutely love them for obvious reasons. Healthier DIY options: carrot/celery sticks, grapes, berries, sliced fruit, homemade protein balls, baked sweet potatoes, boiled eggs, etc.
LIFE HACK #5: ENJOY YOURSELF
A happy heart, is a healthier heart. Be happy. Enjoy the moment. Take in the beauty of a new place. Interact with locals, and make amazing memories! Smiling, laughing, dancing are all healthy and cause an increase in your body’s natural feel good hormones. Just enjoy yourself!
